Brand
Fly Racing
Over two decades Fly Racing grew from a small American house brand into one of the biggest names in motocross. The foundation: solid protection and a modern look for a fair price. At Helmetheaven you will find the complete Fly Racing helmet range, from the affordable Kinetic to the high-end Formula S Carbon.
The history of Fly Racing
Fly Racing was founded in 1998 as the house brand of Western Power Sports (WPS), a family business from Boise, Idaho that has distributed powersports parts since 1960. The brand started with a helmet and a handlebar. The first riding gear only followed around 2001.
From the 2000s onwards Fly Racing built its name in American motocross, with riders like Andrew Short and Trey Canard putting the brand on the map in the 450 class. Later champions such as Zach Osborne joined. In 2025 Cooper Webb took the 450SX Supercross title in his first season on Fly, placing the brand firmly at the top of the sport.
Since 2022 WPS, and with it Fly Racing, has been part of Arrowhead Engineered Products. The brand still operates from the Pacific Northwest and holds on to the philosophy it started with: gear made by riders, for riders.
What sets Fly Racing apart
Fly Racing is known for combining performance and price. The helmet range runs from entry-level models to race helmets that take on the most expensive brands, with the same protective technology across different price points. The Formula series is the flagship and brings technology you normally only find in top-tier helmets.
Adaptive Impact System (AIS)
The protection platform of the Formula series. Multiple layers of material and structure work together to absorb both hard impacts and lighter, rotational ones. Developed with doctors, scientists and physicists.
RHEON Impact Energy Cells
RHEON is a viscoelastic material, invented by Dr. Dan Plant, that reacts to the severity and direction of an impact. On impact it briefly stiffens to better absorb rotational and low-speed forces.
Conehead EPS
Developed by physicist Don Morgan. Cone-shaped structures in the EPS layer act like a crumple zone and spread the impact force across a wider range than traditional EPS foam.
12K carbon shell
The Formula S Carbon uses a 12K carbon shell: 12,000 filaments per band, woven for a flat, light and strong construction with high penetration resistance.
